What I do
Two ways I can help
Practical guides that save you money and trouble
Real-world advice from years of selling, fitting and using marine gear, written so you can act on it the same day.
- The Dinghy Guide: choosing, securing and maintaining your tender
- Coming later: power management, anodes, diesel bug, bilge pumps
- Free checklists, starting with crossing preparation
Sales and operations support
For chandleries, dealers and suppliers who want a busier, smoother season.
- Sales & Operations Check-up for your store
- Sales team training on technical products
- Supplier seminars and in-store events that sell
About me
I've sold it, fitted it and sailed with it.
I'm Erwin Rodenburg. I was sales and operations manager at Island Water World, a marine chandlery with stores across the Caribbean. In peak season I ran a 12-person sales floor on days of up to $100,000 in revenue, and I tripled our sales of small dinghies and outboards.
Before that I built and sold my own export business, and led sales and a major software roll-out for a large company in the Netherlands. I have sailed my own boat across the Atlantic. Today I live in the Algarve and work in Dutch, English, German and Portuguese.
From seminar to sales
Teaching sailors is what I do best.
At Island Water World I ran hands-on seminars with suppliers: real products, real boats, and plenty of questions. Straight after, a time-limited offer in the store. Sailors left with answers and the right gear, and the store had one of its busiest afternoons.
I can set up the same for your chandlery or your brand.
Plan a seminarThe Dinghy Guide
Your dinghy is your car, your shopping trolley and your lifeline, yet it gets a fraction of the attention your boat gets. This guide puts that right.
- Hypalon or PVC, and which size really fits your life
- Lock it or lose it: the U-bolt weak spot thieves know about
- Why the GPS tracker belongs in your outboard, not just the dinghy
- Bow-first docking, and still keeping your outboard locked
- Outboard care and the daily checks that prevent breakdowns
